This Blog is an exploration of the way technology enables people to survive and thrive in different environments. As a professor of archaeology, I’m fortunate to have the opportunity to think about and experiment with a variety of different ancient and traditional tools and technologies. In my spare time, I’m a low-level “hobby” farmer and I enjoy using traditional tools and techniques to shape the land.  I’m also an outdoor enthusiast and I find myself constantly struck by the raw power of the natural world and how it shapes people while we, in turn, shape it. When these three spheres come together, you get – Archaeoverse – a collection of video ramblings, experiments and adventures all linked through their examination of tools, traditional knowledge and the environment.
